Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado Bags Eight-Figure Stack on Day 2 of the $1,050 Spring Championship of Online Poker Medium Main Event

Level 35 : Blinds 70,000/140,000, 17,500 ante
Vicente Delgado
Vicente Delgado

Day 2 of the $1,050 Spring Championship of Online Poker Medium Main Event has come to a close, and what a thrilling day it was. Day 2 saw the 1,278 surviving players from Day 1 be joined by 361 fresh entries. Together, they created a prize pool of $4,206,000, of which 591 players would receive a share of at least $2,279.23, and only 80 of them would be bagging at the end of the day, resulting in a guaranteed cash of $5,103.13.

Of those 80, "2ndOnly2God" accumulated the most chips throughout the day. They will take 19,267,210 of them into Day 3, good for 138 big blinds. The most recognizable name in the top ten chip counts is probably that of Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado. The Spaniard playing from Andorra will be playing a stack of 11,135,501 chips at the start of Day 3. Meanwhile, Morocco's "soulmekki" sits in second place with 16,629,839 chips, and Romania's "blebelea" rounds out the top three with a stack of 15,972,872.

PokerStars Ambassador Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas (7,390,053) and online poker legends Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov (4,489,462) and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt (2,394,980) also found their way to Day 3.

However, it would take many eliminations before the 80 remaining players could bag. Predictably, they came in quickly and in great numbers, and the money would eventually be reached after about three hours of play. Among those unfortunate enough to not cash this version of the main event were PokerStars Ambassadors Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot, Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand, and Sam "SamSquid" Grafton, the latter of which busting very close to the money in 596th place.

Many more household names would join them, such as Linus "LLinusLLove" Loeliger, Sam "Str8$$$Homey" Greenwood, and Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer. The likes of Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang, Benjamin "Spraggy" Spragg, and Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev did find a cash, but could not make a deep run unto the tail end of Day 2.

Just before a double elimination would conclude Day 2 with 79 remaining players, powerhouses Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro, Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis, and Jans "Graftekkel" Arends would also be forced to join the rail.

Those 79 remaining players will return on May 30th, when Day 3 will commence at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The players will then play down to a final table of nine players, which will be played out on Day 4 on May 31st. Blinds on Day 3 will start at 70,000/140,000 with an ante of 17,500, and all levels will have a duration of 25 minutes.

As always, PokerNews will be present with a live report of the entire day, so be sure to tune in to this page tomorrow to find out who the final nine players battling for the $600,639.75 top prize will be and how they will get there.

Double Elimination Concludes Day 2 of the $1,050 SCOOP Main Event

With 81 players remaining, and Day 2 ending when 80 of them would be left, "runovych" open-jammed 1,551,198 chips from under the gun. "RodolfD.Santos" was in the small blind and rejammed for 1,943,161 and the big blind got out of the way.

"runovych": A?9?
"RodolfD.Santos": A?K?

"RodolfD.Santos"s Big Slick was dominating "runovych"s hand. The flop of Q?3?2? would not change that, and the K? turn had "runovych" drawing dead. The A? river was dealt as a formality, but "runovych" busted in 81st place, and with that, the end of Day 2 was reached.

However, on another table, "rodtrader" was still involved in a pot with "Vocaaas". "rodtrader" had opened to 280,000 from middle position and "Vocaaas" made the call from the big blind.

The 3?J?3? flop was dealt and "Vocaaas" check-called a 154,000 bet from "rodtrader". On the 2? turn, "rodtrader" increased his sizing to 690,000 and again "Vocaaas" check-called.

The 10? river completed the board and "rodtrader" completed his triple barrel by firing all-in for an overbet of 2,961,124. "Vocaaas" called as quickly as he could with the covering stack.

"rodtrader" showed down A?A? for the pocket aces, but they had been cracked by the 3?2? of "Vocaaas", who flopped trips and turned a full house.

Therefore, "rodtrader" would also not be present at the start of Day 3, which will now begin with 79 remaining players.

Volkmann Doubles, Still Sits in Last Place

Level 34 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Bruno "great dant" Volkmann was the absolute short stack of the lobby, and he pushed in his 380,597 chips from the small blind when the action folded to him. "bombon73" was in the big blind and made the call.

Bruno "great dant" Volkmann: A?6?
bombon73: K?J?

The flop brought some respite for Volkmann, as his ace paired on the Q?2?A? flop. The Q? turn did not bring any change, nor did the 4? river. Volkmann doubled up, but still sits in last place on the leaderboard, albeit with a few more big blinds.

The End for Veldhuis

Level 33 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 12,500 ante
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis was sitting on a stack of 975,603 chips, which he put all in when the action folded to him in the hijack. Gabriel "aaurelio" Moura was in the next seat over and made the call before the rest of the table mucked their cards.

Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis: 3?3?
Gabriel "aaurelio" Moura: J?J?

Veldhuis was heavily dominated and praying for a three to hit the board. However, none would arrive on the 5?8?A?8?A? runout. It spelled the end of his tournament. A deep run for the PokerStars Ambassador, but surely a disappointing finish for the ever-competitive Dutchman.

Astedt Ascends to Chip Lead with Two Full Houses

Level 29 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante
Niklas ?stedt
Niklas ?stedt

"13santoy13" raised from early position to 100,000 before Niklas "Lena900" Astedt made a three-bet to 300,000 from the button. The action folded back to "13santoy13", who clicked it back to 625,000. Astedt responded with a five-bet jam worth 2,077,500 and "13santoy13" made the call to put Astedt at risk.

Niklas "Lena900" Astedt: Q?Q?
"13santoy13": A?K?

Astedt immediately flopped top set on Q?J?2? and locked up the pot once the 2? turn upgraded him to a full house. The meaningless 8? river was dealt and Astedt scooped up a pot of over four million.

That was not the end of his meteoric rise, however, as a few hands later he would get involved in a pot with Oleg "Fukuruku" Vasylchenko. Vasylchenko raised his button to 115,000 and Astedt defended his big blind. On the J?6?8? flop, Vasylchenko continuation-bet for 99,990 and Astedt made the check-call.

The turn 6? came about and Astedt now took the betting lead with a small bet of 165,983. Vasylchenko was a non-believer and made the call.

When the 9? river completed the board, Astedt seemed to slow down and returned to a check. Vasylchenko took the opportunity to make a bet of 601,161 before Astedt sprung the trap and check-raised all-in for 1,813,995 more. Vasylchenko went deep into his time bank, but could not muster a fold.

He called and got shown that Astedt rivered a full house with his 9?6?. Meanwhile, Vasylchenko was playing two pair with J?9?. A huge 5,667,258 pot was shipped Astedt's way and he conquered the overall chip lead.

Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs opened to 80,000 from early position and the action folded to "!Mp!yavv" in the big blind. They went all-in for 641,246 chips, barely covering Ruijs' stack by 64,160. Ruijs made the call and the cards were tabled.

Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs: A?10?
"!Mp!yavv": 10?10?

Ruijs could not hit an ace on the 4?K?3?K?Q? runout and that spelled the end of his tournament.

PokerStars Ambassadors Win and Bust

Level 26 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

"behindme93" minraised to 60,000 from under the gun and Alejandro "[Papo]AR" Lococo made it 150,000 to go from the button, leaving himself only 15,956 chips back. The action folded back to "behindme93", who put in the extra chips as well and Lococo made the call.

Alejandro "[Papo]AR" Lococo: A?10?
"behindme93": J?10?

It was looking good for Lococo, however, "behindme93" took the lead when the flop hit J?K?4?. The turn 5? and river 7? did not contain any of Lococo's outs, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Simultaneously, at another table, "meM@nu" opened his button to 66,000 before Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas made the call from the big blind.

Colillas then check-raised "meM@nu"s 44,250 bet to 150,000 on a flop of Q?9?Q? and received a call from his opponent. The 6? turn saw another 225,00 bet from Colillas, and again "meM@nu" called.

On the 10? river, Colillas made a bet big enough to cover "meM@nu"s 559,920 remaining chips. They immediately called and saw that Colillas had rivered a full house with his Q?10?. "meM@nu", on the other hand, had hit his gutshot straight draw on the same river with K?J?.

"meM@nu" busted, while Colillas now plays a huge stack of nearly 100 big blinds.

Alavali Plays Double the Average

Alavali Plays Double the Average
Alavali Plays Double the Average

Jargo "bungakat" Alavali raised to 52,500 from the cutoff and "StrongQueenAA" flat-called from the button. "Niko2628" then three-bet shoved for 427,946 before Alavali reshoved, covering "StrongQueenAA"s 800,000 stack.

"StongQueenAA" let their hand go, and the other two players revealed their holdings.

"Niko2628": 7?7?
Jargo "bungakat" Alavali: 10?10?

Alavali had the dominating pocket pair, and it would remain the best hand on 4?4?3?K?9?. Scoring a pot of nearly one million, Alavali now plays double that amount.

"Manni1822" Bubbles the SCOOP Medium Main Event

"Manni1822" Bubbles the SCOOP Medium Main Event
"Manni1822" Bubbles the SCOOP Medium Main Event

"Manni1822" was automatically all-in from the big blind on the stone bubble. "3betwizkid" then open-raised to 40,000 and Timothy "Tim0thee" Adams flat-called from the small blind.

The flop of J?3?J? saw Adams check-call a 20,000 minbet from "3betwizkid" before the pair checked the 5? turn.

On the K? river, Adams checked once more and folded once "3betwizkid" put another 72,000 into the pot. "3betwizkid" showed K?9? for a rivered pair, while "Manni1822" was stuck with ten-high, having received a holding of 10?6?

Thus, the bubble had burst, and all 591 remaining players secured the $2,279.23 mincash.

Shortly before, Sam "SamSquid" Grafton, unfortunately, fell in 596th place and could not join the celebrations

Adams Doubles Up in Huge Preflop Confrontation

Level 22 : Blinds 7,000/14,000, 1,750 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Timothy "Tim0thee" Adams open-raised to 30,800 from the cutoff before "jonespkr" promptly shoved 546,533 chips in the middle from the small blind. This amount covered Adams by around 20,000 chips, but that did deter the seasoned pro from making the call.

Timothy "Tim0thee" Adams: A?K?
"jonespkr": A?J?

While the board brought a wheel draw for both players in way of 3?5?10?4?, the river 5? paired the board and thus Adams secured a big double-up, while "jonespkr" was left with less than two big blinds, which he would lose one hand later.
