Day 1 of the 2021 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) at PokerStars was a huge success with the festival kicking off with seven events (21 tournaments) including Day 1 of the SCOOP-06-H: $10,300 NLHE High Roller.

The event's $1 million guarantee was smashed after 116 entries (89 entries + 27 re-entries) generated a huge $1,160,000 prize pool. Tomorrow's winner is slated to receive a huge top prize of $254,256.

The field was trimmed down to just nine hopefuls after nearly seven hours of play. Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas will be tomorrow's final table captain after bagging a huge 130 big blind stack of 3,239,203 in chips.

Bujtas was near the top of the chip counts a good part of the opening day and took the chip lead before going on a surge near the end of the day to head into tomorrow's action with a monster stack.

Meanwhile, Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson also bagged a huge 100 big blind stack of 2,493,535 in chips with Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz with 1,258,673 also sporting a seven-figure chip stack.

These aren't the only big names remaining in contention as the rest of the final table is well-known in the poker world as well with Samuel "uropan" Vousden (887,784), Michael "Imluckbox" Addamo (877,682), Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet (860,169), Artur "mararthur1" Martirosian (783,540), Dominik "Bounatirou" Nitsche (731,207), and Laurynas "LaurisL91" Levinskas (468,207) all still in contention for the title.

SCOOP $10,300 High Roller Day 1 Action of the Day

Day 1 featured 15-minute blind levels during most of the four-hour late-registration window before migrating to longer 20-minute blind levels for the rest of the day.

Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado bubbled the tournament in 16th place about six hours into the day after his tens didn't win a flip against the ace-queen held by Bujtas.

Shortly after the bubble broke, Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen, "CPUrul0r", and Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford were ousted in 13th to 15th places for a min-cash of $21,200 and the first and only money jump before the final table took place.

Bujtas then eliminated "mrG01R4NG" in 12th place for $26,755 to take the chip lead. Wiktor "Iimitless" Malinowski was eliminated in 11th to Mattsson and a hand later the day was over after Butjas was back at it again to send Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro to the sidelines in 10th place on the final table bubble.
