Aaron Klausman Bags Chip lead on Day 1b With 479,000
Day 1b of the Seminole Hard Rock $1,650 No-Limit Hold'em Deepest Stack saw 60 entrants take to the felt but was whittled down to just 16 players after 14 levels of play. The first two starting flights combined brought the current field up to 125 players with one last flight taking place on Saturday.
Leading the way at the end of the Day 1b was Aaron Klausman with 479,000. Klausman really took off when he called his opponents bluff on a paired board to win a pot of around 200,000. He then continued adding to his stack and was responsible for the elimination of other players. Just over a month ago, Klausman won his first trophy at the Seminole Hard Rock. He will be looking to add another trophy to his collection.
Klausman is followed by Brian Hastings and Dimitry Agrachov. They both bagged 317,000. Hastings has over $3,400,000 in total live earnings while Agrachov also has a victory on his resume from the Seminole Hard Rock.
Other stars still in contention include Hunter Cichy (135,000), Paul Balzano (58,000), and Willie Wiggins (136,000).
Notables who hit the rail on Day 1b included Josh Beckley, Chad Eveslage, Phil Hui, and Erik Christensen. They can still take a shot in the Day 1c flight if they so choose.
The 16 players advancing from Day 1b will join the rest of the survivors from the starting flights on Day 2, which will take place on Sunday, May 26th at 12 p.m. local time.
