Shevelev Cracks Aces to Double Through Reyes

Level 30 : 75,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

In the last hand of Level 30, Guillermo Reyes raised the button to 250,000 and Aleksandr Shevelev called from the small blind.

When the flop came down {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, Shevelev checked and Reyes continued for 500,000. Shevelev woke up with a check-raise to just shy of 2 million and then called off for 5.635 million total when Reyes jammed.

Shevelev: {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Reyes: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Reyes had aces but Shevelev flopped two pair to take the lead. The {q-Clubs} turn gave Reyes a flush draw but he missed when the {6-Hearts} bricked the river.

Level 30 : 75,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Guillermo Reyes limped the small blind and then called when Aleksandr Shevelev raised to 400,000 from the big.

Reyes check-called a bet of 350,000 on the {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop and then both players checked the {8-Clubs} turn. When the {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river Reyes checked and folded to a bet of 625,000 from Shevelev.

Seminole Hard Rock
Seminole Hard Rock

For the next week, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is playing host to the Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series. In addition to this tournament, the series is comprised of two others that will be live reported including the $1,650 buy-in Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry) $300,000 GTD, which will run May 23-27.

Players will start with 50,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels through Level 14. Levels 15-26 will last 60 minutes each with Levels 27+ will switch to 90 minutes. Heads-up play will revert to 40-minute levels.

The plan for the Day 1 flights is to play through Level 14. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will be allowed until the start of Day 2. Like the Deep Stack, this is not a best-stack forward event.

Last year, Chris Bolek topped a 349-entry field to win the Deepest Stack Main Event for $94,544 after a heads-up deal with TK Miles. Other past winners include Geddes Cooper, who topped a 465-entry field to win it in 2017 for $112,771, and Scott Heiligman, who bested 367 entries in 2016 to win it for $121,202.

Shevelev Fills Up

Level 30 : 75,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Guillermo Reyes limped the button and Aleksandr Shevelev did the same from the small blind. Zachary Hammons checked his option from the big and it was three-way action to the {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

Shevelev checked, Hammons bet 225,000, and both his opponents called.

All three players then checked the {7-Spades} turn as well as the {3-Hearts} river.

Shevelev tabled the {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a runner-runner boat and it was good as both Hammons and Reyes mucked.
