Massive Double for Fuller

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Ricky Fuller opened to 25,000 from early position and Joe Ciffa called from the big blind. The flop brought {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} and Ciffa quickly checked. Fuller bet 30,000, Ciffa moved all in, and Fuller snappped him off.

Ciffa: {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Fuller {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

Fuller's two pair was best and Ciffa needed a miracle. The {6-Spades} and {Q-Clubs} completed the board, giving Fuller a full double to 460,000 in chips.

Rivera Doubles

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Alex Rivera shoved for his last 90,000 preflop and Chris Damick called from the button. Rivera showed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and led Damick's {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}. Damick took the lead on the {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, but Rivera had more equity with his massive draws. The {6-Spades} turn failed to help Rivera, but he got there with the {Q-Hearts} on the turn for a straight.

David Schrader Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,124)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

David Schrader opened to 30,000 from the hijack and Chris Damick three-bet to 90,000 from the button. Schrader moved all in for around 260,000, and Damick beat him into the pot.

Schrader: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Damick: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

Damick was a huge favorite, but he had a fade a major sweat after the flop brought {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, giving Schrader a flush draw. The {10-Hearts} turn added Broadway outs for Schrader, but he whiffed on the {2-Hearts} turn. That huge pot vaulted Damick back near the chip lead.

Back-to-Back for Guercio

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It doesn't quite match the feat accomplished my Mark Newhouse at the WSOP, but it's still impressive nonetheless. Sam Guercio has now reached the final table of each of the first two Summer Slam events. He placed ninth in Event #1 and has already surpassed that finish today.

Wagner Cracks Damick's Kings

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In what could have been an epic blinds-versus-button battle, Chris Damick opened to 21,000 from the button and Dan Wagner moved all in for around 170,000 from the small blind. Sam Guercio tank-folded, and Damick called instantly.

Damick: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Wagner: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Guercio said he folded queens, which turned out to be amazing foresight as the flop rolled out {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, giving Wagner a pair of aces and the double up.

Dan Weitzenkorn Eliminated in 9th Place ($906)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After Joe Ciffa opened to 22,000 from the hijack, Dan Weitzenkorn shoved for 71,000 total from the big blind. Ciffa thought it over for a moment before deciding to call.

Weitzenkorn: {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Ciffa: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

Weitzenkorn was ahead with his ten-high, but the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} have Ciffa the lead. The {4-Spades} turn and {K-Clubs} river brought no help to the short stack and he made his way to the rail.
