The 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event came to a close late Sunday night. The $600 tournament attracted a field of 339 total entries across two starting flights, and after 49 returned for Day 2 it was Buck Ramsay who was the last man standing. Ramsay claimed the title, the Main Event belt and more than $41,000 after a heads-up deal with Jacob Ostrander.

Day 2 of the Main Event began with 49 players looking to sneak into the money as the top 36 spots were guaranteed a minimum of $1,391. They fell by the wayside quickly, and with 37 remaining Steve Phillips landed on the bubble when his aces were cracked by Jeff DeVodesicks queens on a queen-high flop.

From there, Seneca Poker regulars Randy Lingenfelter (21st place), Alex Rivera (20th place), Budwey Salhab (19th place), Matt Parry (18th place), Aaron Obstein (15th place), Blake Napierala (14th place) and Dave Olshan (12th place) hit the rail. They were followed by John Theofilopoulos in 11th place, setting up the 10-handed final table.

John Grace was the first to go when his ace-nine fell short against Todd Saffrons ace-ten, and then Brian Healy fell in ninth after losing a massive pot that gave Ramsey the chip lead. Three players went to a flop of {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Healy and Ramsey checked to Travell Thomas, who bet 103,000. Healy then check-shoved for around 600,000, and Ramsey re-shoved for more than 1 million. Thomas pushed his cards toward the muck and the other hands were tabled.

Ramsay: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Healy: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Ramsey had Healy crushed and the {A-Clubs} turn and {J-Diamonds} river improved him to a full house to eliminate Healy in ninth.

Ray Book (8th), Thomas (7th) and Saffron (6th) were the next to go, and then Geoff OConnor lost an unforgettable preflop confrontation against Dan Wagner. O'Connor moved all in for around 600,000 with the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Wagner called with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The flop: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} which gave O'Connor a set of jacks, and he improved to a full house when the {A-Hearts} hit the turn. Wagner was drawing to four outs and incredibly the {A-Spades} landed on the turn to counterfeit OConnors full house on the river, giving Wagner the pot with aces full of queens.

Vince Palma entered the final table with the chip lead but bowed out in fourth, and then after a lengthy three-handed battle Ostrander got the last of Wagners chip when his {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} outflipped Wagners {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

That led to the heads-up deal between Ramsay and Ostrander in which Ramsay was also deemed the winner of the Main Event and the Summer Slam belt.

That does it for our coverage of the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam. Thanks for following along!
