Here Comes Kotchie

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After Howard Kotchie opened with a raise from the cutoff, the player in the big blind moved all in. Kotchie made the call and the cards were turn up.

Kotchie: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Big Blind: {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop paired Kotchie and saw the big blind rise to make his exit, but the {10-Spades} turn gave him pause. All he needed was either another ten or an eight, but that was wishful thinking as the {J-Clubs} appeared instead.

Saffron Four-Flushes the Opposition

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Todd Saffron moved all in for 47,000 from middle position, and the player on the button, who had 46,000, called off. The blinds folded and Saffron discovered he had picked a bad spot.

Saffron: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Button: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Spades} flop gave the button a set of kings, but it also gave Saffron a flush draw. The {2-Hearts} turn didn't complete it, but the {9-Spades} river did! Saffron gave the table a little bump in celebration while the button collected his things and exited the tournament area.

Colao on a Heater of His Own

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Just before the break, Hoss Colao won a monster pot that saw him vault up to 240,000.

We should note that two hands before the one we're about to describe, Colao claims to have won a big pot when his aces defeated jacks. Anyways, in the big hand Colao and two other players got their chips all in preflop.

Colao: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent #1: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Opponent #2: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Colao was out in front and remained silent as both his opponents called for cards. The {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop was as safe as could be for Colao, and so was the {J-Spades} turn. All he needed to do was dodge an ace and king on the river, and he did just that when the {8-Diamonds} blanked.

Colao was shipped the massive pot while the other two players were sent on permanent break from Event #12.

Olshan Crosses 100,000

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Aaron Olshan was among the early chip leaders in yesterday's Event #10, and he's finding similar success today. We just witnessed Olshan double up with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} against an opponent's {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} after the board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Marc Roberts cringed at the sight of the turn and river as he said he folded pocket tens preflop.

"He Just Had a Meltdown"

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Cameron Bartolotta is on all sorts of fire. In fact, he seems downright unstoppable at the moment. Just minutes after scoring a double elimination, Bartolotta was moved to a new table and repeated the feat.

It happened when the under-the-gun player limped and then an early-position player moved all in for 17,400. A middle-position player then tossed in three red T10,000 chips, which meant he was forced to raise. Bartolotta proceeded to move all in behind, the limper folded, and the middle-position player, who had about 50,000 behind, quickly called off.

Middle Position: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Bartolotta: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Early Position: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Bartolotta had woken up with another big hand, and he managed to have another player commit a ton of chips with a far inferior hand. The board ran out a clean {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Spades} and Bartolotta notched another double elimination.

"He just had a meltdown," another player at the table said of the middle-position player, who had made a hasty exit from the tournament area.
