Buck Ramsay Wins Another Main Event at Seneca Niagara!

Nine players returned to Niagara Falls on Monday for the final table of the $1,000 Western New York Poker Challenge Main Event. Guy Klass entered the final day with a massive chip lead, holding nearly three times as many chips as his next closest competitor, and was the odds-on favorite to win his first major live event.

It took only three hours for the tournament to end, but it wasn't Klass who finished on top. Buck Ramsay dominated the action from start to finish, eliminating the first three players at the final table. He eventually grabbed the chip lead and was able to knock out Klass as well. Ramsay and Paula Ferro agreed to a heads-up deal that saw Ramsay claim his second Main Event title in Niagara Falls in seven months along with more than $56,000.

Ramsay was third in chips when the final table commenced at noon, but he began climbing right from the start. He took down David Kelly in ninth place after the two players saw a flop of {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Kelly checked, Ramsay bet 45,000, Kelly raised to 100,000 and Ramsay called.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and Kelly shoved for more than 400,000. Ramsay called with pocket kings and was in front of Kelly's {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and the river bricked to send Ramsay a nice pot to start the day.

A short while later Ramsay knocked out two players at the same time. With the blinds at 12,000/24,000, Ramsay raised to 55,000 from early position and Lawrence Schumacher called from the hijack. Alex Rivera then shipped it for 205,000 from the button. Ramsay and Schumacher both called, creating a massive pot before the flop was event dealt.

The dealer fanned the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop and Ramsay bet 400,000. Schumacher moved all in for around 500,000 total, and Ramsay called.

Rivera: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Schumacher: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Ramsay: {10-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Rivera was nearly dead, and Ramsay was able to hold on when the {7-Hearts} and {K-Spades} completed the board.

Ramsay continued to rake in chips without getting involved in any all-in situations until he and Klass went head-to-head in a huge pot. On a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Klass checked, Ramsay bet 140,000 and Klass check-raised to 350,000. Ramsay moved all in, and Klass went into the tank-called.

Ramsay: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Klass: {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Klass pleased for a nine, but the dealer didn't oblige with the {8-Spades} turn and {3-Spades} river. That pot gave Ramsey nearly a seven-to-one lead going into heads-up play with Ferro. She began shoving preflop and was able to double up once with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} against {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, but the two called it a day after agreeing to a deal.

The Canadian Ramsay now has two Main Event titles at Seneca Niagara since August when he won the Seneca Summer Slam for $40,000. This victory also pushes him past $200,000 in career live tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob.

Congratulations to Buck Ramsay on another victory in Niagara Falls!

We Have a Deal! Buck Ramsay Wins!

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Paula Ferro -- 2nd Place
Paula Ferro -- 2nd Place

After Paula Ferro doubled up with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} against Buck Ramsay's {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, the two players agreed to a deal that saw Ramsey claim his second Main Event title in less than a year at Seneca Niagara. Ramsay receives $56,352 and the trophy, and Ferro collects exactly $40,000.

Stay tuned for a full recap of the final table!

Guy Klass Eliminated in 3rd Place ($26,806)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

On a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Guy Klass checked, Buck Ramsay bet 140,000 and Klass check-raised to 350,000. Ramsey moved all in, and Klass went into the tank.

"I think you have something like {8-}{7-}," Klass said as he sat back in his seat. After about two minutes he called and discovered he was in really bad shape.

Ramsay: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Klass: {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Klass pleased for a nine, but the dealer didn't oblige with the {8-Spades} turn and {3-Spades} river. Klass had a huge lead when the day began but was unable to withstand the Ramsay buzzsaw today.

Charles Johnson, Jr. Eliminated in 4th Place ($19,802)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

A flop of {Q-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} created fireworks moments ago, resulting in the elimination of Charles Johnson, Jr. Johnson led out for 200,000 and Guy Klass moved all in. Johnson called off for around 1.3 million, and the hands were turned up.

Johnson: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Klass: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Klass had flopped Broadway, but Johnson was still drawing to a full house. The {10-Clubs} turn added some chop outs for Johnson, but the {8-Spades} river spelled the end of his tournament in fourth place.

Two Leaders Collide

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

On a flop of {5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, Guy Klass led out for 200,000 and Buck Ramsay called. The {J-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn and Klass led out again, this time for 250,000. Ramsay called, bringing the {K-Spades} on the river. Klass slowed down with a check and Ramsey fired 575,000. Klass went into the tank and eventually cut out enough chips for a call.

Ramsay showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for kings full, and a frustrated Klass tossed his cards in the muck, saying he had {A-}{J-} for a smaller boat.

Charles Johnson Jr. opened from the button and Blake Napierala shoved for around 450,000 from the small blind. Call.

Napierala: {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Johnson: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Napierala had kicker problems and was unable to improve on the {Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board. His fifth-place finish capped off another impressive deep run here at Seneca Niagara.
