The Fall Poker Classic $1,000 Main Event had a total of 249 entries, now just seven remain as they battle it out for the title today at Seneca Niagara Casino & Resort. Canada's Peter Mancini is leading going into the final day with a whopping 2,010,000 in chips, sitting alone as the only player to eclipse the two million mark.
Mancini took the lead of the tournament during a crazy few hands that catapulted his chips from average to enormous. He came to the unofficial final table at one million in chips and it took just one hand to over double his stack with cowboys against Maximilian Droege's jacks. The Canadian has shown off a lot of patience and great decision making thus far as the front-runner to take down the title.
Alex Visbisky will be starting the day with a stack of 1,367,000 and will be looking to surpass his last years finish of sixth place in this exact tournament. Right behind him on the leader board is Day 1c chipleader Vadim Rozin who looked at one point like he was going to run away with the tournament. Rozin lost a few pots during the latter stages of Day 2 but still managed to find a very healthy stack size of 1,359,000 for the final day.
The rest of the players to make up the final seven include Seneca regular Chris Meyers (910,000), well-known pro Jason James (708,000), St. Louis native Tim Vance (665,000), and coming in as the short-stack is Canadian Victor Adams (451,000).
After the first two flights saw only 96 slips sold and it seemed as tho this event might not hit the guarantee, but Day 1c deleted any thought of that, pulling in 153 entries and rocketing the 2018 Main Event prize pool to $219,792. At the beginning of Day 2 it was announced that top 27 places would be paid, with the eventual champion of the tournament pulling in a cool first place prize of $53,853.
Players will be taking their seats at 12 p.m. on level 23 and the blinds will be at 10,000/20,000 with a 20,000 big blind ante. All remaining players are now guaranteed at least $7,913 for cashing and play will not end until a winner is crowned champion of the Fall Poker Classic 2018 Main Event.
