The poker community in South Africa has another two chances to take a shot at the SunBet Poker Tour Time Square August Main Event on August 4 with the final two starting days scheduled for today. It will all unfold at the Time Square Casino Pretoria, which is owned by Sun International, one of the largest entertainment groups in the country.
It is the second time in the current year that the SunBet Poker Tour (SPT) is heading north of Johannesburg with the previous stop taking place in March. Held in cooperation between the Monster Jam Poker Tour (MJPT) and the casino giant Sun International once more, the crown jewel on the schedule is the ZAR15,000 ($790) Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of ZAR4,000,000.
A few months ago at the very same venue, Sugen Singh topped a field of 418 entries after a three-way deal and took home the trophy as well as second-largest piece of the cash prize pool. Singh earned ZAR 707,675 ($38,214) for his efforts with "SM" and MAJ" also taking home the lion's share of ZAR5,266,800 ($281,989) in prize money.

All players receive 40,000 in chips to begin with, which represent 200 big blinds in the opening level. Two flights have already been completed with 142 total entries thus far. The final two chances await today with the regular flight 1d kicking off at 11 a.m. local time, featuring a level duration of 50 minutes all the way. Day 1e has a turbo structure of 30 minutes during the registration period and 15-minute levels thereafter, scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. local time.
Both flights today follow the same main principle: Complete 15 levels or stop once the top 15% of each field has been reached, whichever comes first. The previous two flights concluded in level 15 and 14 respectively with a total of 24 players securing their seat for Day 2 thus far. Unlimited re-entries are available during the first ten levels, after which the registration will close.
