The second flight of Event 13: $3,000 Main Event $2 Million Guaranteed has now hit the brakes after nine levels here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas. A total of 44 entry slips were sold on Day 1b, having just 20 of those slips turn into a Day 2 birth by night's end.

When the final buzzer went off it was Maxwell Young sitting in the top spot on the leaderboard. Young had a downfall during the midst of the day but fought his way back, taking his last chip-up from Michael Wang during the last 15-minutes of the night. Wang's ace-eight fell to the kings of Young to be eliminated, and Young went on to bag 226,000 for the Day 1b lead.

Ian Ivers shot up to second on the totem pole during the penultimate hand of his table. Ivers held big slick and was against the pocket jacks of Hunter Cichy. The turned board was clean for Cichy but a rivered deuce gave Ivers the wheel, sending Cichy on his way. Ivers ended the night with 196,000 thanks to that lucky river. Rounding out the top five are Gabriel Andrade (186,500), David Mzareulov (156,000), and Mahesh Rathi (151,000).

The most accomplished player to jump into the field today was Alex Foxen who quickly took an exit upon sitting down. Foxen's second bullet however went much better, ending the night with 144,500. Foxen has over $21 million in live career earnings and is a player that should be on everyone's radar heading into Day 2.

All 20 survivors from this flight will combine with the other five Day 1 flight survivors on Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. for Day 2. Blinds will begin at 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante and the levels will increase to 60-minutes in length. A total of ten levels will be played on the second day and all who remain will bag up for Day 3.

The second flight of the main event is now in the books but check out the High Roller that is still running as the PokerNews live reporting team brings the updates.
