After two grueling days of play, including one that ended just seven short hours ago, most of the pretenders have been weeded out here at 2014 Mid-States Poker Tour Grand Falls Casino. Just 36 players will march into the event center within the next half an hour to compete for championship here on Day 2.
Blake Bohn leads the way with a massive stack of 403,000, with Day 1b leader Ken Ihringer trailing in a distant second at 275,500. Bohn's fellow Minnesota crusher Kou Vang lurks in third with 236,500, while Ryan Sluzak (235,000) and Justin Heilman (215,000) round out the top five. Bohn seeks his first MSPT win after booking two second-place finishes.
We'll kick things off today at Level 15 (1,500/3,000/500), and levels will last 40 minutes each until they bump up to 60 at the final table. Play is set to begin at 10 a.m. local time, so grab your coffee and donuts and stay tuned to PokerNews to see if one of these top stacks or another worthy contender such as Phil Mader, Jeff Bryan, "Red Bull" Robbie Thompson, Mark Sandness, or Lance Harris claims the victory.
