Reid Doubles Through Hinkle

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We didn't see the preflop action, but Grant Hinkle shoved over the top of a flop bet of what looked like 15,000 from Mark Reid after {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} hit the board. Reid called off his 52,000 stack.

Reid: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Hinkle: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Reid's ace-high was best, but he needed to dodge hearts and cards that paired Hinkle. The {q-Diamonds} and {k-Spades} were clean, and Reid doubled up.

Shimelfarb Rolls With Picture Cards

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We didn't see the action, but Gennady Shimelfarb got his last 29,000 or so all in with {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} in the big blind against Scott Mahin, who held {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} in late position. The board ran out {j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts}, giving Shimelfarb the three-outer he needed to survive.

Tom Hammers said Shimelfarb had lost most of his chips early on with {j-}{j-} to the {5-}{5-} of Jim Boone.

"Nothing steamy about that play," Shimelfarb said with a smile. "I looked down and saw two picture cards."

A few hands later, Shimelfarb doubled once again when his {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} held up against {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} all in preflop.

Seitz Bows Out Early

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Jason Seitz's Day 2 was a short one.
Jason Seitz's Day 2 was a short one.

Jason Seitz lost the majority of his chips on one of the first hands of the day when he got in with {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} against an opponent holding {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Seitz found no help on the last two streets, and he was finished off shortly thereafter when he got the last of it in with {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and a player made trip jacks with {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.
