Good morning and welcome to the final day of Mid-States Poker Tour's third stop of the year here at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Ia. This edition has proven to be the biggest, as the tour shattered its own state record of 389 running for a major tournament by drawing 426. Of those, 45 will walk away with at least some monetary compensation, meaning 40 of the 85 remaining players must still be whittled away before the money begins.
Some of the more notable names in contention include former MSPT champs Joe Illingworth and Jonathan Olson, the two top stacks returning, as well as David Gutfreund, Nick Jivkov, Nick Pupillo, Jeremy Dresch, Todd Breyfogle, Nik Stone, James Mackey, Ralph Massey, Yossi Azulay, "Minneapolis" Jim Meehan, Phil Mader, and Tim Vance.
The final day's play will begin at 10:30 a.m. and progress until the final table is determined, at which point we will see the tournament pause for a dinner break. After that, 60-minute levels begin for the final table, and a champion will be determined who will take home more than $100,000. Stay tuned as we bring you all of the live updates here on PokerNews.
