Hichman Gets Value from Tice

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Abraham Hichman raised to 250,000 in the hijack and was called by Landon Tice, who defended his big blind. The flop dropped {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Tice checked to Hichman, who made a continuation-bet of 400,000. Tice called.

Both players checked the turn {a-Hearts} and the river came {7-Clubs}. Tice checked again and Hichman fired out 900,000. Tice called to take the hand to showdown.

Hichman showed {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for trip aces and Tice quickly shot his cards to the muck.

Andrew Rodgers Eliminated in 8th Place ($17,429)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Andrew Rodgers
Andrew Rodgers

Brandon Lombardo opened the action with a raise to 200,000 in early position and received a call from Sara Stohler in the hijack. Andrew Rodgers squeezed, three-bet jamming all in for 635,000 on the button and action folded back to Lombardo, who re-shoved. Stohler quickly let her hand go.

Andrew Rodgers: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Brandon Lombardo: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Rodgers was in need of help and found it on the flop {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for him, it would not be enough as the turn {k-Diamonds} put Lombardo back on top. Rodgers was unable to find the case nine on the river {a-Clubs} and was eliminated in eighth place as a result, becoming the first elimination on the Final Table to earn $17,429.

Mike Shin Eliminated in 9th Place ($14,706)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Mike Shin
Mike Shin

Mike Shin opened to 900,000 in the small blind, leaving just blue T5,000 chips behind. Jesse Vilchez was in the big blind and reraised to put him all in.

In the meantime, a hand on the adjacent table ensued and Byung Kim wound up all in against Landon Tice on a board of {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Tice had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and doubled Shin, who had {q-Spades}{7-Clubs} and finished with a full house as the river {4-Hearts} came.

Once the hand had finished, Shin called off his remaining chips and was off to the races.

Mike Shin: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Jesse Vilchez: {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Spades} gave Shin a set of eights but also gave Vilchez an open-ended straight draw. The turn came {7-Clubs} to complete the draw, and Shin was unable to see a paired board on the river {10-Hearts} to result in his elimination from the tournament in ninth place.

With eight remaining, the tournament has officially reached the final table and the tournament clock has been paused to clean tables and rack up chips. Chip counts and a seat draw will be posted shortly.

Vilchez Takes from Stohler

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jesse Vilchez opened in the cutoff and was called by Sara Stohler in the small blind. Action went heads up to a flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Stohler led out with a bet of 325,000. Vilchez called.

Action checked through the turn {a-Clubs} and the river fell {3-Diamonds}. Stohler fired out 450,000 and Vilchez confirmed the amount before quickly calling.

Stohler hesitated to show her cards and then tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. In turn, Vilchez turned over {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for tens up.

"Nice hand," said Stohler as the pot went Vilchez's way.

Vlichez Applies Pressure With The Big Stack

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Andrew Rodgers raised to 200,000 on the button and was called by Jesse Vilchez, defending his big blind. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Vilchez checked. Rodgers continuation-bet 180,000 and Vilchez thought for close to a minute before putting in a check-raise to 545,000.

Rodgers then went into the tank, thinking for about two minutes. Eventually, he opted not to commit any further chips and instead sent his cards to the muck. With the pot, Vilchez now finds himself over 6.5 million with nine players still remaining.
