Registration closed on Day 1c with 327 runners, which along with 1a's 131 and 1b's 218 brought the total field up to 676 runners for the first-ever MSPT Showdown Series $1,100 Main Event at San Diego's Sycuan Casino.

After a little over 14 levels of play on Day 1c, the field was whittled down to the final 35 players with Trung Le and his stack of 670,000 leading the way. That is ahead of Day 1b chip leader Alex Greenblatt (400,000) but well behind that of Day 1a chip leader Adam Friedman (816,000).

Others to bag on Day 1c were Jesse Jones (638,000), Ryan Adams (468,000),, Rich Lanes (451,000), George Kalfayan (406,000), who round out the top five. Others to advance were Eli Lowenthal (316,000), Johnny Madrid (304,000), Jason Kapoor (253,000), Andrew Moreno (166,000), and Allen Kessler (85,000).

Among those to fall on Day 1c were MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup, WSOP bracelet winner Ben Moon, Nick Yunis, Sean Yu, PokerNews Podcast co-host Jeff Platt, Christina Read, Greg Geller, Jared Griener, Marty Gorenc, and Minnesotas Dan DQ Hendrickson, the only man to have cashed every season of the MSPT since 2009.

The surviving players from all three flights (15 from Day 1a, 31 from 1b, and 35 from 1c) will return for Day 2 action at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday and play down to a winner. PokerNews will be there every step of the way to capture all the action, so be sure to join us then.
