Welcome back to Day 2 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside $1,100 Main Event, where 120 players look to return out of the 928 entries recorded from two days' worth of starting flights, which generated a total prize pool of $898,660.

Day 1a chip leader Peter Schmall (584,000) comes into the day at the top of the leader board with Day 1b chip leader Hunter Barnett (501,000) next to follow. The pair are the only with over half a million to begin play, though there is plenty of competition not much further down the list, including a solid Chicago showing of Jason Ramos (454,000), Gary Herstein (354,000), and Nicola Ditrapani (277,000). Minnesota's Jared Ditmarson (366,000) and DJ Buckley (260,000) also come into the day with an above-average stack.

The first-place prize of $170,769 is up for grabs come the end of the evening, but there's still work to be done to get into the money first as the top 99 players will earn at least a first-level payout of $2,156. Cards are in the air at 11 a.m. local time with blinds resuming at Level 16 (3,000/6,000/6,000) and increasing every 40 minutes until a champion has been crowned. Per the MSPT structure, big-blind ante will be replaced by a traditional ante when the final three tables are reached.

Who will be the next MSPT Riverside champion? Keep it here at PokerNews to find out.
