MSPT Rolls Along With Day 1b of $300,000 Main Event at Sycuan Casino
Day 1b is set to begin at the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) $1,110 Main Event from Sycuan Casino in San Diego. The United States Poker Championship boasts a $300,000 guaranteed tournament that also awards a trophy on top of the money won.
Players can earn their way into the Main Event with multiple $265 buy-in satellites. There are still two starting flights remaining for Day 1.
Day 1b will start today at 3:00 p.m. local time and Day 1c will be at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (September 24th). The Day 1��s will play down until just 12% of the field remains or until the end of Level 15, all remaining players will return on Day 2.
Yesterday, Day 1a say 119 entries with just 18 surviving the night. Jason Kapoor (395,000) bagged the chip lead, with Ken Baime (388,000) and Curt Kohlberg (334,000) rounding out the only other players who crossed the 300,000 chip mark.
A starting stack for this event will be worth 25,000 chips and late registration will remain open until the start of level 13. An unlimited number of re-entries will be allowed but players may only bag one stack. The levels will be 40 minutes long throughout the tournament with a 10-minute break after every three levels.
Many notables are expected to play today including MSPT Hall of Famer and All-Time Money winner Rich Alsup. Others include Kyna England, Benjamin Moon, Katie Kopp, as well former MSPT champion Chris Smith.
