Danny Lobato Leads All After Day 1d Concludes

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
End of Day 1 Chip Leader - Danny Lobato
End of Day 1 Chip Leader - Danny Lobato

Fred Miller entered the final flight with a great stack of 268,400 and he might have thought that by the time Day 1d came to a close that he'd still hold the chip lead. Danny Lobato had other plans as he would crush all comers and end the night with an overwhelming chip lead at 522,300 in chips. Only 16 players would be moving on to Day 2 and on the final hand of the night Lobato would lay a sick beat on Christian Rodriguez in a 300,000+ chip pot when Lobato's {A-Spades}{6-Hearts} hit a six on the river to send a devastated Rodriguez and his {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} to the rail.

The $200,000 Guarantee was easily met as a total of 420 entrants came out over the four different starting flights. Of those 420, only 64 will be returning later today at 3 p.m. local time and with just 45 players making the money, 19 unlucky players will go home empty handed. Lobato had company at the top of the chip counts for a while as Chris Swanson ran his stack up with a big hand against Vegas pro Rex Clinkscales and ended the day with 330,100 in chips which is good for second overall. Rounding out the top three for day 1d was Ken Fishman with 190,400.

Others that will return for the final day later today include Alec Bradlow (81,700), Cindy Beltran (113,500), Chris Bolek (29,800), Mike Shammos (154,200), Nicolas Mann (160,600), and Michael Beattie (136,700). Plenty of players would come up short of moving on including Alex Outhred, Jeff Trudeau, Michael Laake, and Jordan Wunder.

This concludes our coverage of Day 1d. Make sure to follow along with PokerNews as we continue our coverage with Day 2 later today. We'll be here until a winner is determined so tune in!
