10 Remain, Who Grabs the Title?
After another 10 levels of play, 10 players remained after Day 2 of the Unibet Open Malta Main Event. And so, instead of a final table of 9, play resumes at 1 o'clock (90 minutes from now) with two tables of 5.
Leading the pack is Dutchmen Bas de Laat who lives here on the island. De Laat was one of the shorter stacks in play for quite some time on Day 2, before bursting into the chip lead after doubling up and busting two players.
Griffin Benger, also a resident these days, was headlining the main event for most of Day 2 with a massive stack and interaction in most if not all pots. He slipped a bit at the end of the day, but is still in good contention for that first place prize of 65,000.
This is the final day of the Unibet Open, so there will be a champion crowned today, even if it might take some time. PokerNews.com will again be on site for coverage, so stay tuned!
