Other notables who fell short of finding a bag yesterday include Said El-Yousfi, Unibet Team Pro Alexandre Reard, and Sonny Franco, all of whom will have another shot today at advancing to Day 2 of the main event. Reard has several previous big scores across UDSO main events, including a runner-up finish in Cannes for 25,550 as well as a win in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux for 34,100. Franco is also chasing his second UDSO main event title. He won a UDSO main event here in Marrakech in 2017 for MAD 100,000 (approximately 10,000). El-Yousfie is also no stranger to success at UDSO events, having won a high roller in Divonne-les-Bains in 2020 for 28,104.

Like yesterday, players will start at 1 p.m. local time with 50,000 in chips and play 50-minute levels. Late registration will be open for the first nine levels for each Day 1, and there are unlimited re-entries permitted during that period. Cards are in the air starting at 1 p.m. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and a one-hour dinner break after level 8. The day will conclude after 13 levels at approximately 2:00 a.m. local time on Friday October 6.

As always, stay tuned to PokerNews for all your live coverage needs for this event from the moment cards are in the air on the first Day 1 until a winner is crowned on Day 3.
