Hand #15-19: Davies Climbs the Leaderboard

Level 16 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Hand #15: Due to technical difficulties, the details of the hand were unavailable. Stephen Chidwick was the beneficiary of a double up through Keith Tilston.

Hand #16: Daniel Negreanu raised to 35,000 on the button with {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Seth Davies called from the big blind with {j-Clubs}{3-Spades}. The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Davies checked to Negreanu who continued for 21,000. Davies quickly sent his rags to the muck allowing Negreanu to pick up the pot.

The blinds increased to 8,000/16,000 with a 16,000 ante.

Hand #17: Davies limped in from the button with {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Tilston raised to 51,000 with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in the big blind. Davies called and the flop came {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Davies check-called a bet of 75,000 from Tilston and the {3-Spades} hit the turn. Davies checked again and Tilston checked behind. The {5-Diamonds} paired the board on the river and Davies led out for a small bet of 27,000. Tilston elected to fold with just ten-high and Davies continued to stack chips.

Hand #18: Negreanu opened to 35,000 from the hijack with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and picked up the blinds and ante.

Hand #19: Jake Schindler raised to 35,000 with {j-Spades}{7-Spades} in the hijack but did not pick up any action.

Hands #10-14: Chidwick Doubles But Quickly Falls Back to 10 Bigs

Level 16 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Hand #10: Stephen Chidwick open-shoved 171,000 from the hijack and button Daniel Negreanu looked him up.

Chidwick: {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The board ran {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to save Chidwick on the river, doubling him to 377,000.

Hand #11: Jake Schindler made it 35,000 on the button, holding {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Keith Tilston defended his big blind, calling with {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop favoured Schindler who continued for 30,000. Tilston check-called and they went to the {2-Clubs} turn. Tilston checked yet again and Schindler took down the pot with a second barrel worth 80,000.

Hand #12: Seth Davies opened the button to 30,000 with {J-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Chidwick called from the big blind with {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Chidwick checked the {4-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and let Davies bet 18,000 before check-raising to 60,000. Davies stuck around.

The {A-Spades} turn card halted the fireworks and both players tapped to see the {Q-Spades} fall on the river. Chidwick burned one of his timebanks and he took over a minute before making his move. He led out 125,000 and Davies snap-called, winning the pot with a higher flush. Chidwick slipped to just over 10 big blinds.

Hand #13: Seth Davies looked down at {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} in the cutoff and opened the action with a raise to 32,000. Brent Hanks called from the big blind with {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Both players caught a piece of the {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and Hanks check-called 35,000. The {A-Diamonds} turn went check-check and Hanks checked the {5-Diamonds} river as well. Davies slid 80,000 in front of him, forcing a fold from Hanks.

Hand #14: Jake Schindler found {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} in the first position and won the hand with a raise to 34,000.

Hands #6-10: Hanks Doubles, Schindler Keeping Active

Level 16 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Hand #6: Jake Schindler opened to 35,000 from the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Seth Davies pushed all in for 391,000 on the button holding {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The blinds folded and the action was back on Schindler who laid his hand down as well.

Hand #7: Keith Tilston raised to 30,000 on the button with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Brent Hanks shipped all in for 204,000 with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} in the big blind. Tilston quickly called and it was a race with Hanks being the player at risk.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Tilston was still in the lead. The {a-Spades} on the turn allowed Hanks to jump out front and he held on with another {a-Clubs} on the river.

Hand #8: Schindler raised it up to 32,000 from under the gun with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Stephen Chidwick flatted from the button with {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and both players checked to the {10-Hearts} on the turn. Schindler checked again and Chidwick fired 70,000, sensing some weakness. Schindler stuck around with his two pair and the {7-Hearts} completed the board. Schindler led out for 171,000 and Chidwick instantly dumped his cards.

Hand #9: Davies opened to 30,000 with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} from under the gun and Schindler defended his big blind with {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Schindler quickly check-folded to a single bet from Davies.

Hands #1-5: Tilston Jams on Chidwick

Level 16 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Hand #1: There was a fraction of level 15 (6,000/12,000) remaining on the tournament clock so the players sneaked in two hands before the blinds went up. Jake Schindler picked up {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} in the first one. He made it 27,000 to go and took down the first pot of the day.

Hand #2: Keith Tilston raised to 28,000 from the cutoff with {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind to see the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} hit the flop. Both players checked and Negreanu spiked top two on the {8-Hearts} turn. He led out 20,000 and Tilston accepted the price to see the {A-Hearts} river. Negreanu fired another 80,000 and claimed the pot without a need to show his hand.

Hand #3: Brent Hanks moved all in from the button with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and won the blinds and ante.

Hand #4: Jake Schindler limped the small blind with {8-Spades}{2-Spades} and Seth Davies checked his options with {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop brought something for everyone and Schindler led out 14,000, earning a call from Davies.

Schindler barreled the {9-Clubs} turn with a bet of 35,000 a Davies called again before the {6-Hearts} completed the board. Schindler slowed down with a check while Davies took his time to figure out the sizing of his value-bet. He eventually shoved for 258,000, almost twice the size of the pot. Schindler folded.

Hand #5: Stephen Chidwick was under the gun and he raised to 30,000 with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Action folded to big blind Keith Tilston who looked down at {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. He eyed Chidwick's stack before three-betting to 130,000. Chidwick called.

The dealer revealed the {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{A-Hearts} flop and Tilston continued for 75,000. Chidwick paused for about 25 seconds before calling.

The {K-Hearts} turn improved Tilston into top two pair while Chidwick now had a flush draw. Tilston jammed for 308,000 effective and Chidwick folded instantly.

Negreanu & Co. Return for Final Day of Event #3: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em

Daniel Negreanu

The Super Bowl Sunday allowed players to wind down from the immense action at US Poker Open but the high stakes heroes return to the grind today. Six players come back to the Aria Resort and Casino at noon local time to battle it out in the Event #3: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em.

The first of three $25k NLH tournaments slated for the inaugural US Poker Open kicked off Saturday, February 3, drawing a total of 44 entries. Canadian superstar and Las Vegas resident Daniel Negreanu hardly skips any high stakes action that takes place in his backyard and the all-time winningest player once again stole the spotlight coming into the series.

Just like at the 2017 Poker Masters, Negreanu offered to bet $50,000 on himself against anyone in a must-win leaderboard title race. Negreanu found customers in Benjamin Pollak and Bryn Kenney and while he bricked the first two events, he's ready to take the pole position in Event #3. Whoever wins the tournament is set to claim a $374,000 first prize along with a provisional lead in the hunt for the US Poker Open Trophy.

Negreanu is in great shape to doing so as he lies in second place with 1,700,000 in chips, on the heels of the chip leader Keith Tilston who is on 1,734,000.

USPO - Event #3: $25,000 NLH final table:

5Keith TilstonUnited States1,734,000
6Stephen ChidwickUnited Kingdom519,000

Interestingly, Negreanu was the first player to bust the tournament but he gained traction after firing his second bullet, finishing the day with huge piles in front of him. Negreanu was responsible for breaking the bubble, cracking Dan Shak's kings with deuces to force him out in eighth place. Tilston then dispatched Nick Schulman in seventh to establish himself as the chip leader for the six-handed final table.

While there's a decent cushion between the two biggest stacks and the remaining finalists, it won't be a cakewalk for Tilston and Negreanu. They will face off against a highly talented competition. Pennsylvania's all-time top-earning player, 2017 Super High Roller Bowl runner-up Jake Schindler sits in third with 999,000, followed by Stephen Chidwick (519,000) and Seth Davies (335,000). Brent Hanks is the only finalist in possession of a sub 20-big blind chip-stack. He returns to 213,000.
