The Winamax Poker Open Bratislava €500 Main Event became the biggest six-max tournament in the history of live poker, surpassing the record set by the WPO Madrid Main Event, which took place in May 2022.

From the field of 2,221 entries, Deividas Daubaris was crowned the champion after they overcame Adrien Guyon in heads up play to capture the title and €120,000 first-place prize at the Banco Casino in Bratislava.

The €120,000 payday was the biggest cash of their career, and he has now been immortalized in the Winamax Poker Open history books after an impressive display on the final day of action.

The Main Event in Bratislava surpassed the 2,182 entry milestone set in Madrid and generated the largest poker prize pool in Slovakia, with the final amount being confirmed at €977,240.

Final Day Recap

Day 3 began with 14 players returning to the felt, and it took just over three hours to reach the final table of seven. Clement Bonnant, who started the day as chip leader, crashed out in 12th place after losing all-in preflop encounter to Guyon.

A huge hand then took place to bring the tournament down from eight to seven. Lionel Maggeo, Stefan Baczynskyj and Igor Mataruga had their stacks all out in front of them with the Frenchmen at risk of elimination. Baczynskyj, however, had pocket aces and held out to win the 30 million chip pot after he saw he was up against Maggeo's pocket eights and Mataruga's pocket queens. Nicolas Tytgat bowed out in seventh-place to set up the official final table after his dominated ace was unable to leapfrog the ace-ten of Romain Semler.

Three and a half hours would pass before the next elimination. Slovenian poker player Mataruga lost a flip to Semler and collected €25,000 for his efforts.

Nacho Barbero then found himself on the wrong side of the rail after Guyon rivered a better pair after the one-time WSOP bracelet winner flopped top pair. Baczynskyj, who started the final table as chip leader, was evaporated down to his last 10 million. He jammed with a suited ace but could get there against Guyon's pocket pair.

Three-handed play would then go on for just over two overs, with each of the players becoming chip leader and finding crucial double-ups on several occasions. However, Semler's luck would run out after Daubaris rivered a nine to best Semler's pocket fives.

The chip lead would change several times, and again there were multiple instances of both players coming back from the brink. However, on the final hand of the night, Daubaris walked away as the victor after he flopped two pair and held out to claim the title.
