A player in early position opened to 1,300 and was called by Mitch Merritt in the cutoff. The big blind came along to take action three ways to a flop of 
. All three players checked.
The turn came 
and the big blind bet 2,000. The original raiser called, as did Merritt. The river fell 
and the big blind bet another 2000. The original raiser folded and Merritt threw in chips to call.
"Aces and nines with a ten kicker," said the dealer as the big blind tabled 
for his ace to play.
Merritt tabled 
and took down the pot with his queen kicker playing to secure the best hand.
