Day 1b on Deck in the Canadian Poker Championships With $2 Million Guaranteed

World Cup of Cards
World Cup of Cards

Another day, another starting flight in the Canadian Poker Championships in the feature event at the 2017 World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club. Day 1b of this $2 million guaranteed event kicks off in a few hours in this single same-day re-entry event.

Players begin with a whopping 1,000,000-chip stack and will play 60-minute levels with a break every two hours. There is a dinner buffet after Level 6 lasting 45-minutes long, and players will bag up after Level 9 to come back for Day 2 on Monday at 5:00 p.m.

Late registration is open until the end of Level 12 on Day 2 and players can re-enter once in each flight they enter, including Day 2. Should a player move on to Day 2 and bust before registration closes, that player may re-enter once more.

Between the phases, live and online, as well as Day 1a, there have been 140 entries in this massive event. Just 69 players advanced at the end of yesterday's flight with local pro Guillaume Nolet leading with a hefty 6,725,000 chips. Behind him in second is Sam Phillips with 5,450,000, and Tao Bo Liang (5,204,000), Jody Miall (4,650,000), and partypoker Team Pro Kristen Bicknell (4,491,000) filling out the top five stacks.
