Canada's Mike Leah Headlines Day 3 of the Canadian Poker Championships!

It's another beautiful day in Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada for the penultimate day of the 2017 World Cup of Cards for the Canadian Poker Championships as the feature event. The ever-popular Playground Poker Club worked hand-in-hand with partypoker to host this five-week event and the end is in sight.

Day 3 fires up today at 1:00 p.m. local time and players will duke it out for eight levels at 60 minutes a round. There will be a break every two hours as usual, with a dinner break after the sixth level of the day. Day 4 will be the last day of play on Wednesday and will also begin at 1:00 p.m. with the intention to play down to a winner.

There will be a live stream on a 30-minute delay, so check it out via the Live Stream tab above when it goes live at 1:30 p.m.

Canada's own Mike 'GoLeafsGoEh' Leah has bagged a monstrous stack worth 14,315,000 and looks to reach $10 million in cashes between his live and online recorded winnings. Leah boasts $6,464,403 in live results and $3,062,566 online for a total of $9,526,969 in lifetime earnings. The Ontarian is known for his multi-tabling wizardry and is likely to be seen with a laptop by his side for the remainder of the week.

The chip leader coming into the day is Sebastien Labbe with a hefty 15,970,000 chips, with Tommy Coulombe sitting in second with 15,500,000. Leah is firmly in third, with recent Playground1000 champion Charles La Boissonniere in fourth with 13,555,000, and end of Day 1 chip leader Daren Keyes filling out the top five stacks with 13,265,000.

Players are now in the money with 145 contenders back to try and make it to the final day on Wednesday where a winner will be crowned. Everyone is guaranteed a min-cash worth $2,000 but the real goal is the $400,000 up top along with the trophy and overall title.

Another fascinating story is that of Richard Verdon who found his way here through a $2.20 satellite ticket. Even better, he won the ticket through a giveaway from partypoker and did not have to spend his own money to buy in. He spun his ticket up into a $22 satellite ticket and turned that into an entry into the $220 Phase One tournament. He then turned that into a stack for Day 1 and brought just over 2 million in chips to Day 2. Verdon is now in the money, guaranteed $2,000, and has 5,765,000 chips to work with. He is freerolling for $400,000 and seems to be enjoying the ride. We'll be following his story to see if he can go all the way!
