Czaja Empties the Clip

Level 28 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

With multiple preflop bets already piled in the middle, Karim Abdelhamid and Aaron Czaja saw a {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Czaja bet 320,000 and called a check-raise of 875,000 from Abdelhamid.

The {6-Clubs} landed on the turn and Abdelhamid check-called a bet of 1,200,000. The {a-Spades} completed the board on the river and Czaja fired a third barrel, emptying the clip with an all-in bet.

Abdelhamid sized up his opponent, realizing he was covered, and eventually found a fold.

Khan Squeezes a Bluff in Before the Break

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Alexander Puchalski raised to 250,000 and got calls from Dave Jeanneau-Cyr in the hijack and Kyle Janisse in the cutoff. Michael Khan was on the button and three-bet to 850,000. Puchalski folded, Jeanneau-Cyr called and Janisse mucked.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Jeanneau-Cyr checked. Khan bet 700,000 and Jeanneau-Cyr called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs}. Jeanneau-Cyr checked again and Khan slid out a bet of 1,800,000 this time. Jeanneau-Cyr tanked but eventually folded.

Puchalski was on the rail and said "No fear hey?" and Khan exhaled and showed {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a bluff. "Nice hand' said Jeanneau-Cyr as he headed on break.

Francesco Maltese Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,000)

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Francesco Maltese
Francesco Maltese

After Aaron Czaja opened to 225,000, Francesco Maltese moved all-in for 1,035,000 and Charles La Boissonniere four-bet jammed over the top forcing Czaja to fold.

Maltese: {q-Spades}{k-Clubs}
La Boissonniere: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Maltese was racing and things appeared to be on his side as a king in the door of a {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Sadly, for Maltese, there was an eight right behind it. The {q-Clubs} on the turn gave Maltese some outs but a blank {2-Spades} on the river eliminated him in 16th place.

Lacasse Runs Into the Ladies to Bust

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michel Lacasse
Michel Lacasse

Michel Lacasse raised to 250,000 from early position and Tomas Magni three-bet to 750,00 from the small blind. Lacasse called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Magni open-shoved and Lacasse had a decision to make for his last 1,600,000. Eventually, he called.

Lacasse tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, up against Magni's {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. When Lacasse saw what he was up against he said, "Pocket dame (queen)? F***!"

The turn was the {4-Hearts} to give Lacasse a straight draw but the river was the {k-Clubs} and Lacasse was eliminated.

Just 16 players remain and they are now re-drawing for the final two tables.

Jeanneau-Cyr Flips to Double Through the Chip Leader

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Dave Jeanneau-Cyr raised to 250,000 from the hijack and chip leader Aaron Czaja three-bet to 750,000. Jeanneau-Cyr four-bet jammed for 1,975,000 and Czaja called.

Dave Jeanneau-Cyr: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Aaron Lawrence Czaja: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

It was a classic race with Jeanneau-Cyr being the player at risk. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Jeanneau-Cyr held to double.

Karrass Sinks on the River

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Michael Khan raised to 260,000 from under the gun and Nabil Karrass moved all-in for 1,270,000 from the hijack. Khan thought for a moment and then called.

Karrass was at risk but well ahead with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}, up against Khan's {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Karrass remained ahead with ace-queen high. The turn was the {4-Clubs} with no change. Khan called for a nine and sure enough, the {9-Spades} hit the river and Karrass was eliminated.

Unfortunate Spot Busts Baron

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Alexandru Baron
Alexandru Baron

Alexandru Baron opened under-the-gun and called an all-in three-bet from Charles La Boissonniere to put himself at risk.

La Boissonniere: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Baron: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

A cooler situation for Baron would end with no help from the {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} board and Baron departed picking up $6,250 for 19th.
