Gr¨¦goire Boissenot - Day 1b Chip Leader
Grgoire Boissenot - Day 1b Chip Leader

Day 1b of the World Poker Tour Season XI Grand Prix de Paris is over, and nobody accumulated more chips than French singer Grgoire Boissenot. Boissenot shot up the charts near the end of the night, and was the only player to even flirt with a six-figure stack, finishing the day with 95,000 chips.

A total of 132 players registered on Day 1b, and if you combine that number with Day 1a's entrants, you get 228 total players. Only 92 survived on Day 1b, so a total of 143 players will return for Day 2.

Peter Jetten (83,575) and Matt Salsberg (83,575) - no, that's not a typo - both finished Day 1b with healthy stacks. Jetten climbed steadily throughout the day, while Salsberg was down to his last 8,000 during the first few levels. Salsberg then received a large double up through Vanessa Selbst when he flopped a set of queens. Selbst shoved with straight and flush draws, but bricked on the river.

Joining Jetten and Salsberg tomorrow are Antoine Saout (77,795), Mohsin Charania (72,250), Salman Behbehani (71,900), Michael Mizrachi (69,750), Fabrice Soulier (62,500), and Tony G (62,450).

Selbst was eliminated shortly after, but she wasn't the only notable to hit the rail today - Heinz Kamutzki, Dan O'Brien, Guillaume Darcourt, Guillaume Rivet, Roberto Romanello, JC Alvarado, and Darren Elias all busted before the seventh level came to a close.

Tomorrow at 3 p.m. CEST, the entire field will be under one roof for the first time. Jacques Enjoubault is the overall chip leader with an astounding 225,200 chips, and he's followed by Antony Lellouche (178,275) and Basil Yaiche (142,475), who also played on Day 1a.

We hope to see you again tomorrow for Day 2. Good night from Paris!
