Deuces Never Loses

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Small blind Arthur Conan limped in with {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} and big blind Mohammed Lahlou raised {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. Conan called.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Conan check-called a bet of 225,000. The {K-Spades} hit the turn and Lahlou and Conan both checked.

The {6-Clubs} on the river had both players check again and Conan took it down with his pair of deuces.

Straight Versus Top Pair

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

In a limped pot between the two blinds, Arthur Conan bet 65,000 on {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Lahlou called with {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}. The {5-Diamonds} hit the turn and with 280,000 in the pot, Conan checked. Lahlou bet and Conan called.

The {4-Diamonds} completed the board and Conan checked again. Lahlou bet 335,000 into the 590,000-pot and Conan, with a pained face, tanked long and hard. We're not sure if he called or folded in the end, but Lahlou showed his straight and won the pot.

Dimitri Sukhorukov Eliminated in 4th Place (MAD 323,000)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Dimitri Sukhorukov
Dimitri Sukhorukov

Dimitri Sukhorukov was first to act and with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} he made it 125,000. Conan folded but Mohammed Lahlou wasn't so eager to do the same with {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and called from the small blind.

The flop came {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Lahlou checked. Sukhorukov bet 130,000, Lahlou thought for a bit before he called.

The {J-Diamonds} on the turn was an action card! Lahlou checked again and Sukhorukov bet 285,000 into 610,000. Lahlou acted like he wasn't so sure what to do; wiped his forehead, scratched his arm, and called, growing the pot to 1,180,000.

The river {8-Spades} was a blank and Lahlou checked for the third time. After some tanking, Sukhorukov bet 725,000. Lahlou announced all in and Sukhorukov wasn't hiding his surprised face.

He thought about it for a fair bit before he eventually called, while we couldn't see how much he still had behind at the time. He got the bad news instantly and Sukhorukov shook hands before he made his exit in 4th place. Sukhorukov, who won the Sunday Million twice in his life according to French colleagues here, had to settle for MAD 323,000.

Alexandre Riccomi Eliminated in 5th Place (MAD 248,000)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Alexandre Riccomi
Alexandre Riccomi

Action folded to Alexandre Riccomi in the small blind and he limped in with {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Big blind Rachid Rami instantly checked with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, giving both players top pair. Riccomi checked and Rami bet 100,000. Riccomi check-raised to 200,000 and Rami instantly called.

The {Q-Clubs} hit the turn, making Rami two-pair. Riccomi checked and Rami (again instantly) grabbed some randomly selected chips and splashed the pot with 'em. Riccomi check-raised all in for 1,020,000 and Rami called like we've only ever seen Hellmuth do; incredibly fast.

The {Q-Hearts} on the river was of no real importance, start of day chip leader Alexandre Riccomi was eliminated.
