Karp Crippled by Brady; Busts on the Bubble

Ryan Karp on Day 1
Ryan Karp on Day 1
With 28 players remaining and hand-for-hand play in progress, Matt Brady raised up the action to 9,500. Ryan "ryanbluff" Karp reraised to 21,500 and only Brady made the call.

The flop came down {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs} and Brady led into Karp for 35,000. Karp then shoved all in for 123,000. Brady made the call with exactly 121,500 chips.

Showdown:
Brady: {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs}
Karp: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {8-Hearts} but didn't help out Karp. The river was close with the {6-Diamonds}, but not close enough. Brady was able to crush Karp on the bubble and leave him with only 1,500 chips to begin the next hand.

On the next hand, Karp anted up 500 and after receiving his cards, tossed his last 1,000 into the middle. Adam Sanders completed from the small blind and Michael Katz checked in the big blind.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} as both Sanders and Katz checked it down.

Karp showed first and revealed queen high, holding {Q-?} {J-?}. Katz showed {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} for a five-high flush, but Sanders turned over {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} for an eight-high flush.

Officially it was Sanders that busted the bubble boy and sent us into the money. "That was for the 36ers," he said.
