Breaking Things

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

We've played a full level and a bit of another one, and the players are off for a 15-minute break. Updated chip counts will magically appear in the space above this in just a moment.

Sneaky, Sneaky

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On the last hand of the level, Jesus Cabrera came into the pot limping, and Dave Cubeta called from the cutoff seat. Brandon Croft took a free flop from the big blind, and it was three-handed as the dealer rolled out {2-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}. Croft checked, and Cabrera continued out with 60,000 chips. Cubeta promptly raised to 150,000, and Croft quickly folded out of the way. Cabrera was going nowhere; he three-bet shoved all in over the top, and Cubeta considered for a bit before mucking his hand.

Cabrera loves to give information, and he gave his table a good bit of it as he flashed his {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} as the dealer pushed him the pot.

Croft Stabs, Surrenders

In late position, Dave Cubeta opened with a raise to 50,000, and Brandon Croft called to see a flop out of the big blind. The dealer spread out {9-Hearts} {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds}, and Croft led out in to the pot with a matching bet of 50,000. Cubeta called, and that earned him a check on the {Q-Spades} turn. When Croft knocked the felt, Cubeta fired a bet of 140,000 at the pot, and that was good enough to take it down.

Cubeta - 640,000
Croft - 1.1 million

Sykes Gets Some Back

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

In early position, Mark Summers raised to 62,000 to open the pot. Mark Sykes was the lone caller, coming along from the big blind to see a flop of {J-Spades} {8-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. Sykes tapped the felt and let Summers continue out with 84,000 chips before check-raising to 225,000 total. Summers could not call; after a few moments, he cut his losses and ducked out of the way.

Summers - 825,000
Sykes - 980,000

Patel Pushes Again

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Under the gun, Mark Sykes raised to 55,000 before Manish Patel moved his 280,000-chip stack all in on a three-bet shove. Sykes appeared to be in agony as he considered his spot for a couple minutes, but he eventually yielded and let Patel stack up his raise plus the blinds and antes.

Cubeta Takes a Line

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Dave Cubeta

On the button, Matthew Waxman opened to 52,000, and Dave Cubeta called from the big blind. Heads up, the two men took a flop of {10-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {A-Spades}, and Cubeta knocked the table. Waxman continued out with a small bet of 48,000. Cubeta had 299,000 left in front of him, and he made the call to see another card.

The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Cubeta led out into the pot now with a tower of gray chips worth 100,000, close to half his remaining stack. Waxman thought it over for a couple minutes before uncapping his cards and returning them to the dealer with a sigh.

Waxman - 1.145 million
Cubeta - 480,000

Croft Robbing the Blind

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Matthew Waxman was in the big blind for the third time today, and for the third time today, Brandon Croft raised it. He made it 75,000 to play, and Waxman gave him a look before folding. "You're 3-for-3 today on stealing my blinds," he said.

Croft showed the good this time, though, flipping up {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} as he took in the blinds and antes. "I'm 0-for-2 in flips, though," he added.

The Blind Battling the Blind

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Another battle of the blinds.

Mark Sykes opened the pot to 62,000 from the small, and Brandon Croft called from the big to go heads up to a flop. It came {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} {8-Clubs}, and Sykes continued out with 65,000 more chips. Croft took pause before raising to 150,000, and Sykes tanked for a couple long minutes before making the call.

That led them to the {5-Hearts} turn, and Sykes checked. Croft's response was an all-in shove for more than 400,000. Sykes gave it another long look but he could not call. His cards went into the muck, and that pot puts both he and Croft right at 880,000 chips.

Double or Nothing for Manny

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Manish Patel all in and sweating it
Manish Patel all in and sweating it

In the hijack seat, Brandon Croft raised to 65,000, and Manish Patel shoved his short stack of 152,000 into the middle. When it came back to Croft, he had no decision and quickly called with {A-Spades} {J-Spades}. Patel was in front, and his {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} put him in good shape to double up.

Board: {Q-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}

That's just fine with Manny, and the dealer has obliged him with an early double up. He's up over 360,000 now, dropping Croft down another peg to about 820,000.
