That Raise-y Feeling
There's plenty of action around the room right now, just not much movement to show for it. Here's a smattering of the four hands we watched on the way back to our desk:
1) A player opened to 750 from early position, and "Miami" John Cernuto called in the cutoff seat. On the button, Jim Collopy squeezed in a reraise to 2,675, and the initial raiser promptly four-bet to 6,250. Cernuto and Collopy folded in turn.
2) It was a limpy pot. Will "The Thrill" Failla, Curt Kohlberg, Brent Roberts, and David Peters all came into the pot for the minimum in the first four seats, and action to Brett Richey. From late position, he raised to 3,000 straight, and everyone folded, Roberts inadvertently flashing as he did.
3) A player in early position raised to 750, and the gentleman next to him flat-called. Next door to them, Matt Brady moved all in for 6,475, and he coaxed folds out of the rest of the table to add more than 2,000 chips to his stack.
4) On the turn of a board, John Racener checked, and his heads-up opponent bet 4,700. Racner elected to check-raise all in for the ~21,000 his opponent had left, and a long tank-fold sent the pot to the WSOP Main Event runner up.
