Masek Claims Miscikowski's Bounty

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Table 12 is awfully three-betty to start the day today, and it's making for some exciting poker.

In the last hand, Matthew Chang opened to 7,500 from middle position, and Alex Masek three-bet to 20,800. The action wasn't done yet, however, as David Miscikowski took pause from the blinds before announcing a four-bet all in. When it came back to Chang, he spent a few minutes in pain before surrendering, but Masek made the call to put Miscikowski to the test for his full stack.

Showdown
Masek: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Miscikowski: {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Chang told the table he'd folded pocket queens, making a good laydown as the money bubble looms. You can imagine his reaction, then as the {6-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} flop rolled out with the one-out queen on the end. Chang had to take a minute away from the table to console himself, but it was Miscikowski doing the real sweating. He was two cards from the door, and the turn {4-Diamonds} and river {8-Spades} failed to get him over the hump.

Miscikowski's day is done, and we're down to 30 players. With that pot, Alex Masek has exploded into the chip lead with about 475,000 chips -- more than 1/8th of the chips in play!
