Browning Bleeding Through Missed Draws

Level 30 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Abraham Araya opened for 150,000 and Derek Browning called. The blinds released and the flop came {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {3-Spades}. Araya bet 210,000 and Browning called to see the {2-Spades} come on the turn. Araya check-called 350,000 and river brought the {2-Hearts}. Araya checked and Browning pushed out 500,000 fairly quickly. Araya took about five seconds to call and Browning said, "Jeez, I missed everything there," and tabled {J-Spades} {10-Spades}.

Araya said, "Look at this," and tabled {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} to take a two million chip pot.

Miller Time!

Jack Miller committed himself with a 1.56 million chip raise following a Derek Browning open to 155k and Browning set him all in.

Miller called for another 400k and reluctantly showed {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} while Browning had two overs with {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} giving Browning even more outs, but the {5-Clubs} turn and {6-Spades} river ensured Miller would double up and carve a chunk out of the Browning chip lead.

Will Nguyen Eliminated in 7th Place ($41,679)

Will Nguyen 7th Place.
Will Nguyen 7th Place.

In the first hand back from the dinner break, Will Nguyen bumped it up to 140k. After a call from Mark Burford, Abraham Araya shipped it in.

"I was afraid of that," said Nguyen, who made the call for his tournament life, with Araya having him just barely covered. Burford got out of the way and the hands were revealed:

Abraham Araya: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Will Nguyen: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} gave Nguyen a ton of outs, but the {j-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river didn't aid his effort and Nguyen was eliminated in 7th as Araya inched ever closer to chip leader Derek Browning.

Wow ?!?

Derek Browning just made a big call for his tournament life and is up and over the six-million chip mark as a result.

The hand started with a 115k opening raise from Daniel Lowery. Browning flatted, but Will Nguyen bumped it up another 375,000.

Lowery got out of the way, but Browning made the call and the dealer peeled off a {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Nguyen continued with another 375k bet, and again, Browning flatted. But when the {10-Diamonds} turn was revealed, Nguyen shoved.

Browning was faced with a call for his last 2 million in chips and he tanked for a good three minutes before making it with just {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Nguyen was on a naked bluff holding {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, but had outs with one card to come.

That card was the {10-Hearts} and Browning fell to his knees and doubled up massively once it hit the felt.

Justin Gardenhire Eliminated in 8th Place ($32,771)

Justin Gardenhire 8th Place.
Justin Gardenhire 8th Place.

Justin Gardenhire picked the wrong time to mess with Daniel Lowery and is now out of the WSOPC Choctaw Main Event.

His final hand began with a 135k open from Lowery, continued with his own raise up to 360k and got really exciting when Lowery shoved.

With just another 430,000 behind, Gardenhire made the call for his tournament life with {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and although Lowery had {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, it wasn't over yet.

The flop was a very eventful {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}, giving Gardenhire some extra outs.

However, the {6-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river were not what he was looking for and he hit the rail 8th.
