Andy's Pre-Dinner Adventures
Andy Philachack called us over a few minutes ago to tell us about two crazy hands that went down right before the dinner break.
In the first hand, a player opened to 1,500 from under the gun, several players called, and Philachack squeezed from the blinds with , making in 15,000. The player who opened moved all in for 25,000, and Philachack made the call. The player had , and held.
Then, on the hand before dinner, the same player opened. Philachack defended with , then led out when the flop fell . The player called. The turn was a , giving Philachack a straight, and he led out again - this time for 11,000. The player called.
The river was a repeat , Philachack open-shoved for around 40,000, and the player called with just ace-high.
"He called with ace-high!" Philachack exclaimed when he told us the story. "Then he said I was 'a dumb f***.'"
Philachack now has over 175,000, and is still shocked that the player called.
