Teasdale Takes Some More

Adam Teasdale has increased his edge here during the early stages of his heads-up battle with Wade Woelfel.

Teasdale gathered some more chips just now in a hand that began with Woelfel opening for 130,000 from the button, Teasdale calling, and the flop coming {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Teasdale checked, Woelfel bet 145,000, and Teasdale called. Both then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn.

The river brought the {2-Clubs}. Teasdale fired 220,000 this time, and when Woelfel called, Teasdale flipped over {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for tens and deuces and Woelfel mucked.

Advantage Teasdale

Adam Teasdale raised to 130,000 from the button, and Wade Woelfel called to see the flop come {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Woelfel checked, and Teasdale continued for 150,000. Woelfel check-raised to 380,000, and Teasdale came back with another raise to 650,000 total. Woelfel then made it 1.38 million to go, and an undeterred Teasdale fired back once again by raising to 2.2 million.

Woelfel then took the opportunity to recheck his cards, and decided to let the hand go.

Pete Rios Eliminated in 3rd Place ($87,762)

Pete Rios - 3rd place
Pete Rios - 3rd place

Pete Rios opened from the button with an all-in raise for about 1 million, then Adam Teasdale reraised his leading stack all in from the small blind. Wade Woelfel then checked his cards, and he also called all in for his last 2,665,000. The three players tabled their hands...

Teasdale: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Woelfel: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Rios: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The crowd stood as one to see the community cards dealt, as did all three players. The dealer spread the flop {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. An ace to pair Woelfel! The turn then came the {3-Spades} to improve all three players to full houses, though Woelfel's was the best of the bunch.

Then came the river the {6-Diamonds}. Woelfel had improved his stack enough to push into first ahead of Teasdale, while Rios is out in third.

There will be a break now while preparations are made for heads-up play.
