Day 2 Sees 246 Runners Return
Welcome back to our coverage of the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit River Rock Main Event. A grand total of 1,032 players registered over three starting days with one short-term goal in mind: Make Day 2. 246 of these players were able to attain that goal. Jingjing Liu is our chip leader coming into play today with 266,000. Rounding out the top three in chips are Norman Overdijk (242,000) and John Cracic (231,000).
While those three are the big stacks in the room, there will be several other notable names coming into play today with healthy stacks. Among those to return to the tables are Sean Giesbrecht (204,600), Greg Mueller (180,300), Noah Vaillancourt (172,100), Ashkan Razavi (155,400), Sandra Wong (126,700), Scott Stanko (120,000), and Matt Jarvis (94,600).
While those players thrived during one of the starting flights, other names faltered. This tournament saw many a notable player register only to find no success. Those not returning today include Robert Cheung, Matt Affleck, David "Doc" Sands, Gavin Smith, Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, Shawn Buchanan, and Jason Koon.
Players will play ten 60-minute levels today before bagging up for the evening. What's more is that the field will certainly burst the money bubble today. The top 108 players will make the money with a min-cash netting a player $2,840.
Be sure to stay tuned to our coverage as we approach and pop the money bubble here on Day 2!
