No Run at Ring #7 for Masek on Day 1a, Sokoloff Also Busts
Earlier this month 65-year-old Chris Reslock won two rings at the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Philadelphia to bring his total number of rings to seven. In the process he leapfrogged 27-year-old Alex Masek, who had held the record with six.
We haven't seen Reslock in the field today, though we assume he'll be here for the National Championship after capturing the Harrah's Philadelphia Casino Championship, but Masek took a shot at another ring.
Unfortunately for Masek, who will also be playing in the National Championship, he was unable to get anything going and was recently eliminated. It happened last level when Jonathan Tamayo, who won the Palm Beach Kennel Club Main Event, opened for 1,050 and received a call from an unknown player in Seat 5. Masek then shoved for 4,200, Tamayo reshoved and the caller got out of the way. Masek tabled and was unable to overcome the of Tamayo. Masek's run at his seventh ring will have to wait until tomorrow.
Meanwhile on the other side of the room, a short-stacked Paul Sokoloff finally succumbed and was sent to the rail.
