Hegele Wins a Bit and Loses Some
Robin Hegele has joined the field after the break and is off to a good start.
Hand #1:
The flop read , Hegele checked his big blind, and so did Eyal Bensimhon and the players in the early position and on the button.
The turn brought them the , Hegele, Bensimhon and the player in the early position checked again. The player on the button bet 2,000. Hegele checked his opponent's stack out and then decided to call. Bensimhon and the other player both folded.
The river completed the board with the and both Hegele and his opponent checked. Hegele's opponent tabled for two pair, queens and sevens with the eight as the kicker. Hegele had him beat though for the same two pair but with the nine-kicker as he held .
Hand #2:
The hand after, Karl Snow, in early position raised to 950 with was met with some protest from Bensimhon as he was in the big blind. Everyone folded to Hegele in the small blind. Hegele called. Bensimhon folded.
"Punish him for me" Bensimhon said to Hegele.
"I'll try" Hegele said with a smile.
The flop came and both players checked. The turn brought them the , Hegele bet 1,800 and Snow called.
The on the river completed the board, Hegele continued with a bet of 3,500. Snow raised to 11,000.
"Now I am getting punished!" Hegele exclaimed and he quickly folded.
"No! You were supposed to punish him!" Bemsimhon said with some despair.
"I tried! I had so many outs!" Hegele replied while Snow stacked up his newly acquired chips.
