Taylor Williams Claims Event #11: $400 NLH Turbo Title for $25K

In Event #11: $400 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, 350 runners created a $115,500 prize pool that was paid out to the top 53 players including Henry Reed (10th - $1,738), Chris Davis (17th - $1,190), Dan Gloss (25th - $773), Houman Alaeddini (34th - $597), and Jonathan Leatherman (42nd - $570).
In the end, 33-year-old Taylor Williams beat Brian Parker in heads-up play to win the title for $25,184 and his first gold ring.
“It’s great. It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been coming up here for a number of years grinding. I fired a lot of bullets this week and it’s the only one that got through,” he said. “I have a full-time job, but I supplement my income with this.”
He added: “Just putting the time in alone, studying hand histories with friends. I spend a lot of time on forums, on Reddit, just reading, studying, talking. Basic stuff. I don’t do anything special.”
