Day 2 of the WSOPC Thunder Valley Main Event Begins at Noon
Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Thunder Valley $1,700 Main Event has arrived! After two Day 1 flights, a total of 96 players will return to the Thunder Valley Poker Room in Lincoln, CA, for the Day 2 restart. The action commences at noon today, with play resuming at Level 16 with the blinds at 2000/4000 and a 4,000 big blind ante.
The field will play through 60-minute levels, with 15-minute breaks after every two levels, and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 21. The tournament is scheduled to play down to the final nine players today, and those nine will return for the final table on Monday.
The big stacks in the room at the beginning of Day 2 will include overall chip leader Roman Shainiuk, who put 421,500 chips in the bag at the end of Day 1b.
Other players to enter Day 2 near the top of the counts include Paul Chai (408,000), Day 1a chip leader Noel Rodriguez (315,500), Kelly Minkin (293,000), Travis Fujisaka (287,500), Alex Condon (285,500), Ian Chan (280,500), and Dinh Le (278,000).
With 414 total entires, the Main Event went well over the $500,000 guarantee, with a total prize pool of $627,210. The first place prize of $130,667, and the WSOPC ring, will go to the eventual winner, who will be crowned on Monday.
The field is filled with some of poker’s finest. In addition to the formidable list of chip leaders, names like Brett Murray (200,500), Allen Kessler (160,000), Lee Markholt (53,000),, Pat Lyons (56,000), David Brookshire (50,500) and Jasthi Kumar are all still in the field, and the road to the WSOPC ring will be a tough one for whoever eventually takes down the championship.
