Yunis Leads Experienced Field as 11 Battle For Circuit Ring

The final day of the $1,700 Main Event at Seminole Coconut Creek is upon us and what a day of action it promises to be. 11 players return to action at noon local time to battle for a new exclusive WSOP Circuit ring and the $188,158 first place grand prize money.

One player holds a significant chip lead heading into play today and that is none other than Nick Yunis who will bring his 4,970,000 mountain of chips with him to the table today. Yunis is 2nd all time on Chile’s money list and will be looking to gather another big score with a victory today that will move him closer to 1st.

Neal Corcoran comes in on an island at 2nd in chips with 3,285,000 which is a good distance behind Yunis yet still a million more than any other player. Corcoran is a player on the rise, with the vast majority of his results coming in 2019, He will no doubt be looking to make his first huge splash on the WSOP circuit as any finish 5th or better would become the Florida native’s best ever live cash.

Coming in at 3rd in chips is Russell Sullivan with a stack of 2,255,000. The native of Coumbia, SC is a well known circuit grinder and already has two circuit rings to his name. His largest cash by far thus far was a 2nd place finish in the 2016 WSOPc Cherokee main event for $148,700. He will be aiming to eclipse that high mark today with a victory today for his 3rd career ring and bring some rare glory to his beloved South Carolina Gamecocks.

Another player who enters today with a healthy stack is Thomas Alcorn (1,775,000) who is making a run reminiscent of his 3rd place finish at the WSOPc Cherokee main event in August, which won him $126,188. Alcorn came into Cherokee relatively unknown and with very few results but opened several eyes with a resilient 3rd place finish after taking a commanding chip lead at the final table at one point. Here at Coconut Creek he has done the same and has again made a Cinderella type deep run which he will attempt to finish off in style today.

There is another circuit ring winner in the remaining field as Dominique Mosley enters the day with 1,550,000 in chips. The Miami native has over $700,000 in total career earnings. He took down his WSOP Circuit bracelet right here in Coconut Creek in 2018 and will look to make this location an even more special stop for him.

Other storylines of the day include; Steven Sarmiento looking to add his fourth six figure score of 2019, Bradley Mercer going for circuit ring #2 and David Nathaniel looking to finish the job today after finishing 2nd in an earlier this week in an event during this series in Coconut Creek.

Play will begin today at Level 26 with blinds at 20,000/40,000 and a 40,000 big blind ante. Things get cooking at noon local time. PokerNews will be with you all the way until the ring is won.
