Who Will Come Out on Top in the WSOP Circuit $1,700 Main Event at Aruba

Hilton Aruba Resort and Casino
Hilton Aruba Resort and Casino

It is the final day of the 2019 World Series of Poker International Circuit Aruba which also means a winner will have to be crowned in the $1,700 Main Event by the day's end. There will be just 44 players returning to the felt on Day 2 for their shot at the title along with a spot in the 2020 Global Casino Championship.

Leading the charge is Matt Russell who bagged up an impressive 418,000 chips on Day 1a. Russell is coming off a successful summer at the WSOP in Las Vegas and is looking to carry that momentum forward. He will be closely followed by Friman Villalona (413,000), Tomas Teran (413,000), and Craig Trost (400,000) as the only other players with at least 400,000 chips.

There are also still plenty of other notable names in the field including Ray Henson (251,000), Kristy Arnett (234,000), Adam Cedric (114,000), recent WSOP Main Event final tablist Garry Gates (94,000), and 2019 WSOP Dealer of the Year Heather Alcorn (69,000). It should be an exciting day at the tables with the money bubble only three eliminations away.

The action will resume at 12 p.m. local time with one hand remaining in level 17 and the blinds at 2,000/5,000 and a 5,000 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 30 minutes in length until the first break after level 20. Starting on level 21, the levels will be increased to 45 minutes for the duration of the day. There will be a 15-minute break after every three levels and a dinner break has not been decided as of yet.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the updates throughout the day so stay tuned to find out who will win the inaugural WSOP Circuit Aruba Main Event!
