PokerNews is in town to live report the $1,700 Main Event here at the World Series of Poker Circuit Ameristar St. Charles, but that is just on gold ring event that will have played out by the end of the series.

In Event #5: $400 Pot-Limit Omaha, 85 runners created a $28,050 prize pool. The top 13 got paid and among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Maurice Hawkins (10th - $658), Allen Kessler (11th - $658), Shawn Quinn (12th - $658), and Cory Bogert (13th - $630).

In the end, 44-year-old Jason Simon beat Jermaine Coleman in heads-up play to win the title for $8,563 and his first gold ring.

“I play Big-O cash games here almost every day,” he said after the win.

Day 2 only lasted a little over three hours and stacks were relatively close throughout. Simon was only a slight favorite when he reached heads up with Coleman. It was a cooler finish for Coleman though when both players flopped trip kings and after getting all of the chips in the middle Simon held up with his bigger kicker.
