"RyutaroTY" Wins the PLOSSUS Ring

It took just under eight hours for "RyutaroTY" to make their way through the Day 2 field of 445 and take down Event #15: $400 PLOSSUS, $1M GTD. The Japanese player took down the biggest portion of the $1,103,560 prize pool, pocketing $140,051 in addition to the World Series of Poker Circuit Ring.

"RyutaroTY" had to come back from a deficit when play was three-handed, as Canada's "Potsticker" led the way with a huge stack. Three-handed play went on for quite a while, before "RyutaroTY" was able to double into the lead. It took nearly 40 more minutes before they finally eliminated "Potsticker" in third, and heads-up lasted a single hand with Belmiro Ribeiro falling in second in the very next hand.

Day 2 Action

Action got underway on Day 2 with 445 players left in action from the starting field of 2,935. That put more than $1.1 million into the middle to divvy up between the top 300 players.

They played down to the money very quickly, going to the first break on the money bubble. The bubble burst right after the first break with Tal Noach busting in the bubble spot.

About two hours later there were less than 100 players remaining, and they were down to the final 21 players another two hours after that. "Potsticker" and Ribeiro were both in the top five, but "RyutaroTY" was second last in chips.

It took about another hour to get down to the final table bubble, but that's where the action stalled. They played four-handed on two tables for almost a full hour before "alltimetilt" broke the stalemate and ended in 8th place.

"ken-PoLi", Ioannis Angelou-Konstas, and "v_Nistelrooy" quickly busted from the final seven, and Aristeidis "karapepono" Moschonas wasn't far behind in 4th before action ground to a halt again.

They played three-handed for nearly an hour. "RyutaroTY" started three-handed play with the smallest stack, but they managed to double to the lead and eventually take out "Potsticker". That gave them a nearly 5:1 chip advantage going to heads-up, and it took only one hand.

It ended with a cooler, jacks into kings, and Ribeiro's jacks couldn't find any help. He won $101,258 for second place, while "RyutaroTY" earned $140,051 plus the Gold Ring.
