Day 1b of the World Series of Poker Circuit Playground has reached its conclusion after close to 15 hours of play in a busy Friday in Quebec. Some 518 entries was whittled down to 52 who put their chips in a bag at the end of the night.

David Quang finished as one of the chip leaders with 1,105,000. The Guleph, ON native was the beneficiary of a huge hand on the bubble when he flopped a set against two pair of Trevor Argue who had been a chip leader for much of the early part of the day. The two big stacks clashing created a pot of over a million which launched Quang into the lead.

Following Quang closely to end the night was Tommy Nguyen who edged over a million in the final level to end with 1,029,000. George Caragiorgas finished with 884,000 while Lily Kornik and Wayne Obrien closed out the top five counts with 842,000 and 833,000 respectively.

The 52 players will move on to Day 2 which is Sunday at 11 a.m. They will join the 21 from Day 1a and those who survive Day 1c on Saturday.

PokerNews will pick up coverage of Day 1c on Saturday at 11 a.m.
