Rings are back in Marrakech! From the 12th of January until the 21st, the Casino de Marrakech, inside the luxurious Es Saadi Resort, is hosting the prestigious WSOP Circuit tour for the ninth time in its history. Thirty tournaments, including 13 ring events, are scheduled during these two weeks of competition.

In the last few days, Frederik Thiemer already claimed the 4,500 MAD Opener event (500,000 MAD, approximately 45,500), and Russia's Dmitrii Belikov won his first WSOP ring in the 6,000 MAD Mini Main Event (700,000 MAD, around 64,500). Another player will be crowned in the 20,000 MAD High Roller and win 1,200,000 MAD (110,000) as the final table will be played and streamed today. But all eyes will be on Day 1a of the 15,000 MAD Main Event, which starts today at 1 p.m. local time.

Last year, Portugal's Silvio Domingues Costa took the first-place prize of 2,000,000 MAD (180,423). Out of a field of 1,041 entrants, he eventually defeated Antony Lellouche in a three-hour heads-up battle.
