Action got underway at 2pm Eastern, and the turnout was strong. They broke the guarantee a few hours into play, and finally capped out at $733,800 in the prize pool. Once registration closed, action moved quickly and within a few hours, they were hand for hand to the money.
Once the money bubble burst, the action went into overdrive. Within 4 hours, the field was whittled from 611 down to just 50 remaining, and they were at the final table less than 2 hours later.
The final table took more than an hour to complete, but most of that time was during three-handed play. The final three battled for quite awhile, with "ArchieAndrews" in command early until Justin "PetitFoxx" Zhu cracked their queens with a flush for a huge double. "ArchieAndrews" was out in third for $25,849 (plus $9,767.79 in bounties).
That set up a heads up battle between Zhu and "Brtz". Zhu had a big lead to start the heads up battle, but "Bzrt" was able to battle back to even the stacks up. While the stacks were close to even, they made a deal to knock some of the variance out of the tournament, but it still took about 25 minutes to finish it out.
The big hand happened when "Brtz" got it in with a slightly bigger stack, but ended up dominated with ace-ten behind big slick. They hit their ten on the flop, but "PetitFoxx" spiked the king on the river for a huge lead, and "Brtz" was out a few hands later leaving "PetitFoxx" sizing up rings.
PokerNews will be back on the virtual floor for 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit Sunday May 10th for Events #4 and #5.
