Action of the Day

Action got underway on Event #6 at 2pm Eastern time, and bounties were flying right from the start. There were players within the first level with double and triple stacks in play. Late registration and rebuys were open for more than four hours, and the field grew quickly through that time. They broke the $500K guarantee during the third hour of play, and by the time the gates closed, there were 3,615 entries that built a prize pool worth $723,000.

Once registration closed, the numbers dropped quickly. It took less than an hour to get hand for hand, and just a couple hands to burst the bubble. It didn't slow down then, either. An hour later they were down to 300, and just 30 more minutes to get down to 200. They were under 100 left an hour later, and down to the final four tables just an hour or so later.

Event 6 Final Table

It was just before 1am Eastern time when the final table convened, and the first few bustouts came pretty quickly. "Sissyohus" was the first to exit after getting a dominated ace in, and "Vamooooooooos" quickly followed in 8th after getting tens in against aces.

They played seven handed for about 45 minutes until "IAMWILLIAM" found a spot with sevens, but ran into the queens of "mrbradleyy". Six handed play went on for almost an hour, with short stacks doubling every chance they had. "mrbradleyy" started six handed play with the second biggest stack, and had been running pretty pure through most of the day until they got into a massive spot against "JoaoValli" that created a 27M chip pot with ace-nine against queens. "mrbradleyy" ended up decimated, and busted 6th for $8,830 (plus $9,998) shortly after.

That's when "JoaoValli" went on a rampage, knocking out every one of his opponents over the course of the next 30-odd hands, in most cases coming from behind to do it. Along the way, the Brazilian racked up a massive $32,827.42 in bounties to add to the $51,879 grand prize and the coveted WSOPC Ring.

PokerNews will be back on the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit virtual floor this Sunday for Event #7 starting at 9am Eastern. Sunday will also feature coverage of the $10M guaranteed HR Championship. The $25,000 buy in Event #8 kicks off at 2pm Eastern time, and if that isn't enough poker for you, PokerNews will also be covering Event #9 and #10 at 3pm and 4pm respectively.
