Event #7: Monster Stack $500K Gtd

Day 1 Completed

"ShopChop96" Wins WSOPC Event 7: Monster Stack For $135,865

WSOPC Event 7: Monster Stack 500K GTD is in the books on GGpoker after 15 hours of play. After the dust settled it was “ShopChop96” who bested the field of 5,161 to nab the grand prize and turn the $200 buy in into $135,965.

“ShopChop96” representing Mexico, was spotted in the middle part of the day with a large stack amongst the chip leaders. They remained one of the serious contenders throughout the day and stayed around the chip lead all the way down until the final table.

At the final table, play would slow down for a significant amount of time with eight players remaining as many short stacks survived and chips were passed around. The players eventually were eliminated in relatively straightforward fashion relative to their chip positions without too many big up and down swings. “Jayb0y_11”, who was the eventual second place finisher emerged as a big stack at six handed and was one of the top challengers.

But “ShopChop96” would regain the advantage as they eliminated “LuckyBuda” in third place to take a 70/30-chip advantage to heads up over “Jayb0y_11”. The gap would grow quickly as the Mexican player extended their lead, winning pot after pot and eventually bringing the chip advantage as high as 95/5. “Jayb0y_11” did manage to survive one all in and gain some back, but could not make any more of a comeback and eventually succumbed when their flush draw failed to come in on the final hand to give “ShopChop96” the WSOP Circuit Title.

That wraps it up for PokerNews's coverage of this WSOPC online event but be sure to check back to see the plethora of other online action that will be covered in the coming days.
